Shanghai - With less then a week to go everybody is working hard
to get things ready for the new group of students. The old interns
are getting ready to go home and the new employees of Happy
Street will soon take over the Dutch pavilion. July 12 is
coming very close.

Shanghai - Happy Street would not be Happy Street without
the eighty students working there. Spread out over various
functions they keep the pavilion up and running. In the series
'A Happy Street day with..' we follow one of the students
during a normal working day. Public area host Daphne takes the
lead.

Shanghai - This week the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature
and Food Quality took care for some hilarious
moments at the Dutch pavilion by setting loose some cows in the
Kroon. At the same time Peter van der Kleut, having worked at
several expo's looked with experienced eyes to Happy
Street and the first group of new employees have arrived.

Shanghai - Who would think that Happy Street only is
nice in daytime, really should pay a visit in the evening
as well. In the dark, with its bright colorful
lights Happy Street's daytime atmosphere has changed
completely.

Exhibition objects, employees, you name it. And mostly it are
the Chinese pavilion visitors who like the camera so much. What is
it with this photomania on Happy Street?

The 1,888.888th visitor visited the Dutch pavilion and
that had to be celebrated. The number 8 also happens to be the
lucky number in China. Furthermore our pavilion was visited by
a group of disabled people and a mysterious black sheep.

The last couple of months a lot has happened and for most students
the end of their time in Shanghai is near. Time to look back on a

A Dutch pavilion without 'poffertjes' (pancakes) is, of
course, unthinkable. That's why Holland brought a 'poffertjeskraam'
to Shanghai. The Chinese as well as western people really enjoy
this Dutch snack.

Shanghai - Water, it was the main topic at Happy Street last
week. Of course the kick-off the World Cup did not go completely
unnoticed, but the province of Zuid-Holland pulled some clever
strings to keep the attention to the Holland Waterweek.
